The Nomad cross-chain protocol team offered hackers who withdrew about $190 million from the project’s smart contracts to return the stolen assets for a 10% reward.
“Nomad will consider any party that returns at least 90% of the amount of stolen funds as a white hacker.
The team will not take any legal action against him. The funds should be transferred to the official Nomad recovery wallet,” the statement reads.
The developers stressed that they continue to work with the community, law enforcement agencies and blockchain-oriented companies to recover all assets.
They added that the deal with the project will allow the hacker to avoid “possible prosecution by third parties” and accusations by the authorities.
According to Etherscan, at the time of writing, tokens worth $22 million (more than 11% of the amount of stolen funds) are stored at the address specified by the team.
