BlueBenx announced a $31 million hack and stopped withdrawing funds
Brazilian cryptocurrency platform BlueBenx blocked withdrawals by customers, citing hacking. This is reported by Portal do Bitcoin.
The company said it was the victim of an “extremely aggressive” hacker attack, but did not disclose any details. The lawyer of the firm Assuramaya Kuthumi stated the alleged damage of 160 reais (~$31.54 million).
Rumors are circulating among the platform’s clients that it has fired all staff. One of the former employees confirmed to the publication that they were informed about the hacking and the cuts began. According to his calculations, we are talking about about 30 employees, although the interlocutor found it difficult to accurately assess the scale — many worked remotely.
“I think there is a high probability of a scam, because this whole hacking story seems like nonsense that they invented,” said one of the BlueBenx users.
The company positions itself as a “highly profitable crypto platform” offering customers regular payments. The platform’s products assume up to 66.2% per annum.
